I was recently talking to a friend about things, and it was suggested that I try writing or blogging – what my friend didn’t know is that I did some thing like this a few years ago, and I sent them the link to this blog. That prompted me to re-read earlier posts and recall what I had posted previously.
I’ve been busy up to now trying to get my weight down, and also trying to start an exercise regime that might just form a new me over the next couple of months. I managed to do 80 sit-ups this morning, although it was pretty tough going. I was then able to get through my usual weights routine, managing to do the curls, shoulder presses and rows as I do each morning.

I’m blogging a little later than I usually do today – most days, I tend to blog while I’m travelling to work in the morning. It gives me a good 20-25 minutes to quickly put together some ramblings, and impressively I tend to do it on my iPhone.

My weight loss has usually involved me setting a weight target and trying to get down to that size. My target weight at the moment is 12st, which even now makes me chuckle as I can’t remember when I was ever 12st in weight.

Perhaps the most remarkable thing about my weight loss (if you can call it remarkable) is the fact that I’ve achieved it despite not actually increasing my activity levels. The sole contributor to my weight loss has been a change of diet in both cases (sugar first, then the Slim & Save plan).

After starting at Wessex Water back in January, I managed to lose almost 2 1/2 stone through a combination of not snacking, cutting out milk and bread, and latterly dropping sugar for Lent. This got me down to 14st 13lbs, which is the lightest I’ve been since my teenage years. I had started the year at 17st 4lbs.
